Yesterday Brooklyn had her one year appointment, where she had 5 shots!!! My poor little girl. Needless to say today she started to run a fever at daycare so they called me and I had to come and pick her up. On our drive home Brooklyn started to have a convulsion. I had to call 911 while driving off of the expressway to the nearest house, where I grabbed Brooklyn and went screaming to the door. Once I got cold water on her head and tummy, she started to come back to conscience and started to cry (best sound ever!). It was then that I just started bawling and hugging her so tight, that I wouldn't even let the EMT guys hold her. I can't imagine a worse sight than your baby in a seizure, and I don't think I have ever been so scared before. Days like this put life in perspective, and make you want to hug a little tighter and longer!
By the way Brooklyn weighed 22.7 lbs (75% percentile) and was 29.75 inches tall (75% percentile) at her one year appointment.
Oh, Hon, I would have done anything to prevent you from having to go through that horrible experience. How well I remember that first time too. I hope and pray that it was the first time and the last time.
